The main characteristic of GJIROKASTRA is the intensive use of stone of building the house, which looks like small fortresses, imposing castle, picturesque streets of cobblestones, which all lead to old Bazaar. For its cultural historical and traditional significance GJIROKASTER is UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE .

OTTOMAN bridge & BUNKERS. Explore the OTTOMAN bridge, an ancient structure from the OTTOMAN period, and learn about the Bunkers that remain from Albania's communism era. These historical sites provide a fascinating glimpse into Albania's past.

- BLUE EYE

▶️ BLUE EYE is an underwater spring, which looks like a human eye. There is a cave very deep underneath the water, which pumps fresh water to the surface, is more than 50 meters deep, the temperature in the water is 10 degrees. You can walk along the forest and others springs to admire the beautiful nature. Natural Park of Blue Eye is the most visited attraction.

- LEKURSI CASTLE

▶️ LEKURSI CASTLE is historical monument located on the top of the hill overlooking the town of SARANDA . The castle date back to the 16 century, it was built by the OTTOMAN EMPIRE to protect the area from foreign invaders. The castle has strategic location, and offers paronamic view of the surrounding area. Visitors can enjoy watching sunset, the stunning views of the sea and the mountains from the castle.

- MESOPOTAM MONASTERY

▶️ MESOPOTAM MONASTERY dates back from 11th and 13th Century . The Monastery provided both Catholic and Orthodox rites, converted to the mousqe by the Ottomans. Mesopotam Monastery was built on the walls of a much older temple thought to pre-date the arrival of Christianity. Hellenic stones are found from the 3rd and 4th centuries BC.

- THERMAL WATERS BENJAT PERMET

The thermal waters of Benja (Bënjë) are natural sulfur springs with water rising up through deep tectonic cracks. In total there are 6 springs with each having water following a natural way up into a stone bath. You can find these thermal baths on both sides alongside the Lengarica Canyon. The biggest and most famous bath is next to the iconic Kadiut Bridge at the start of the Lengarica Canyon, so obviously, this is also the busiest one. You can find the other, smaller baths further up in the canyon.

- VJOSA RIVER

Today, the Vjosa River in Albania, one of the last wild rivers of Europe is declared a National Park by the Albanian Government, becoming the first Wild River National Park in Europe. In future, the Vjosa will be conserved as a living, free-flowing river, to the benefit of people and nature. This is the result of a unique collaboration between the Albanian Government, local and international experts, environmental NGOs from the Save the Blue Heart of Europe campaign, IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature), and outdoor clothing company Patagonia.

- PERMETI TOWN

The city of Roses is one of the cities of Gjirokastrër district. Përmet is located in a mountainous and hilly area with very broken and diverse relief, where the peak of Paping on mount Nëmërçka is prominent. It is located in the southeast of Albania and borders to the south by Gjirokastra; with Skrapar and Berat to the North, Kolonja to the east and Tepelena to the west.

- OTTOMAN BRIDGE

The Kadiut Bridge is an old Ottoman stone footbridge over the Lengarica River near Përmet. The bridge was built in the 18th century and marks the beginning of the magnificent Lengarica Canyon. Around the bridge, you’ll also find the Benja Thermal Baths.
